The Ace-Spectacular Hips implant coupled with the recommended surgical fixation is the best course
of action for the team’s case study patient. The bio-compatible materials and the sleek design of the implant will allow for the patient to
experience a wider range of hip motion without pain.
To verify design parameters and to prove the functionality of the Ace-Spectacular Hips design, we created
a 3D modelled prototype in Autodesk Inventory and a program that validates certain key properties.
We diagnosed our case study patient with Developmental Hip Dysplasia. Our patient was a man who has undergone several hip-related surgeries in the past and his been experiencing hip problems since childhood. Recently, it has gotten to a point where he can no longer sit for over 15 minutes at a time and it is excruciatingly painful for him to exercise in any manner. Our team was tasked to design a hip implant for our case study patient that will allow for him to return to the active lifestyle he once enjoyed.
